Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah launched the Sahara India Refund Portal (Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies, CRCS) on July 18, 2023, in New Delhi.
CRCS will pay Rs 5000 crores to the valid depositors of cooperative societies of Sahara Group from the “Sahara-SEBI Refund Account”. Every eligible depositor can apply for a Sahara refund online application form from the official website at mocrefund.crcs.gov.in.

Eligiblity criteria for CRCS Sahara refund
- Union Minister Amit Shah says that the first payment of up to Rs 10,000 will be made to 1 crore investors who deposit Rs 10,000 or more through the CRCS portal.
- Amit Shah also said that when the payment of Rs 5,000 crore is completed, another appeal will be made in the Supreme Court to return the amount to the remaining investors.

How to apply for Sahara Refund?
To apply for Sahara Refund, you need to go to the CRCS Sahara Refund portal and apply online.
Step 1: Visit the official CRCS Sahara Refund Portal at https://mocrefund.crcs.gov.in/.
Step 2: Click on “Depositor Registration” To register as a depositor.
- Enter your Aadhaar number (Last 4 digit) and mobile number.
- Click on the “Get OTP” button.
Step 3: Verify your account by entering the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and complete the registration process.
Step 4: Now Login your account by entering Last 4 digits of Aadhar card and Mobile number to get OTP.
Step 5: After successfully logging in, Accept the terms and conditions by clicking “I agree.”
Step 6: Enter your Details such as a 12-digit Aadhaar Number click “Get OTP” and Verify OTP. you will see your Aadhaar user details such as First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Father/Husband Name.
Step 7: Fill out the required option and enter the details of the Certificate of Deposit.
Step 8: Click on “Submit Claim” to see all the details in the grid below. Here, you can add multiple claim requests.
Step 9: Once all the claim details are filled, the pre-filled claim request form will be generated. you need to ensure that all claims are entered before preparing the application form, as it cannot be changed or added later.
Step 10: You need to upload the latest photograph and sign the claim form along with the photograph.
Step 11: Upload the claim form and a copy of your PAN card. (A PAN card is required if the claim amount is ₹50,000 or more.)
- The size limit of the claim request form should be between 12 MB and 50 KB, signed with a photograph and PAN card.
Step 12: After that, you can see your claim request number on the thank you page. You should note down the “claim request number “for future use.
